About Me

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend with a personal mission to encourage others with words.
My husband and I have been married for over three decades and have two grown children. With both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education, I have served in various capacities as an educator, teaching several different grade levels
in both public and private schools, and most recently working as an elementary teacher-librarian.
When my six-month-old son was diagnosed with a deadly neurological disease, I found that, for me, words were therapeutic, and the experience reignited in me a long-buried passion to write. I have shared the miraculous testimony of his healing with many people over the years, including members of Christian Women’s Club chapters around the state of Alabama.
The story was ultimately published in a book called Living the Serenity Prayer (Adams Media) in 2008.
Throughout my writing tenure, I have been blessed with many wonderful opportunities. I have contributed to multiple publications for LifeWay Christian Resources, both in print and online–including hundreds of devotions in Adventure magazine for kids, numerous articles for ParentLife and BabyLife magazines, TeamKID discipleship curriculum, and children's curriculum for Explore the Bible and Bible Studies for Life. I also represented ParentLife in interviews with several well-known Christian personalities such as Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew, Christy Beam, and, one of the highlights of my writing tenure, my hero, Max Lucado! Additional writing credits include contributions to multiple anthologies for traditional publishers such as Guideposts, Bethany House, and Adams Media (see Amazon author page). In addition, I have contributed many online guest posts for various websites and ministries.
